SCORPIONS lanza ahora al mercado un fantástico trabajo para conmemorar que hace nada menos que tres décadas que estamos disfrutando de la icónica y poderosa balada que todos alguna vez hemos cantado. Además incluyen la banda sonora de la histórica caída del Muro de Berlín en la ya mencionada caja edición de lujo Deluxe Box, llamada “Wind Of Change The Iconic Song”, que saldrá a la venta el próximo 3 de octubre 2020. Como ya os hemos mencionado anteriormente, el box set con apariencia de un bloque de cemento, contiene un libro editado en tapa dura de 84 páginas escrito por el Doctor Edgar Klüsener. Estamos hablando del fundador y editor jefe de Metal Hammer, además de un confidente y amigo cercano de la banda, quien entrevistó a Klaus Meine exclusivamente con el propósito de escribir sobre origen y el impacto de la canción. Contiene fotografías inéditas de Didi Zill fotógrafo oficial de la banda en ese momento y del archivo personal de Klaus Meine así como la letra escrita a mano de “Wind Of Change” por Klaus Meine. Moscow Peace Festival De todos modos la elección de esta fecha, 13 de agosto de 2020, no es casual ya que es el mismo día en el que el Muro de Berlín fue construido en 1961 y el Moscow Music Peace Festival que tuvo lugar en 1989. Recordemos que fue todo un evento mundial y retransmitido en directo para casi todo el mundo, además de editado en vídeo, celebrado en un gigantesco estadio en la capital rusa y con la participación de algunas de las bandas de rock duro más grandes entonces como BON JOVI, OZZY OSBOURNE, MÖTLEY CRÜE y los propios SCORPIONS, además de CINDERELLA, SKID ROW y los rusos GORKY PARK. Todo un acertado detalle de unir el pasado con el fantástico presente de SCORPIONS. “Wind Of Change The Iconic Song” está dedicado exclusivamente a la icónica balada escrita por Klaus Meine, la cual se convirtió en la banda sonora del final de la Guerra Fría. De hecho, está Inspirada en la experiencia de tocar en el citado Moscow Music Peace Festival en 1989, “Wind Of Change” aúna los sentimientos de esperanza, optimismo y perspectiva de un futuro mejor. El compositor de dicho tema y cantante de la banda germana, ha manifestado recientemente al respecto “Cuando salimos al escenario del Lenin Stadium y comenzamos el concierto con “Blackout”, los soldados de la Red Army, quienes ejercían de seguridad en el concierto, tiraron su sombreros y chaquetas al aire y se convirtieron en parte del público. El mundo estaba cambiando justo delante de nosotros. Fue increíble”. No sólo la gente en Europa, sino en todo el mundo se sintió conectada al sentimiento de cambio y paz de la canción. Con el colapso de la Unión Soviética, las ansias de libertad y comunidad eran enormes. El repentino vacío en Europa dejó mucho espacio para sueños y esperanzas. “Wind Of Change» aunó el mágico e indescriptible sentimiento y se convirtió en el himno de la caída del Muro de Berlín, La influencia y el significado de la canción siguen siendo actuales y estando vigentes más que nunca. Klaus Meine asimismo ha declarado, uniendo aquel momento con la difícil época que de cambios que está viviendo el mundo ahora “En tiempos de COVID-19 y todas las teorías de conspiración locas en tiempos extremadamente difíciles, Wind Of Change’ es como un abrazo, un buen amigo de una época en que esperanza en un mundo pacifico parecía cumplirse.
